Sermon Introduction “Chapter 19 marks a dramatic
change in the book of Revelation. The
destruction of I.
God is Praised
for Righteous Judgment, v. 1 – 5. A. The Voice of the Multitude, v. 1 – 3 1. Allhlou,ia –
Praise the Lord. It is borrowed from the Hebrew and only appears in these verses
in the New Testament. The Hallel Psalms were sung at

His victory over his enemies. 2. Action and Attributes, v. 1 – The song emphasizes His attributes not the sinfulness of a. He provides the salvation – 1 Corinthians 5:7 –
“our Passover” b. He receives the glory. This is His
moral excellence. c. He receives the honor. This is His
due. d. He has the power to overthrow wicked
civilization. His salvation should awaken gratitude;
His glory should awaken reverence, and His power should awaken trust. 3. Attributes and Action, v. 2 a. God is true. b. God is righteous. c. God’s judgment is against
false religion and wickedness. B. The Worship of the Heavenly Beings, v. 4 – 5, 4:6 – 7 & 5:6 - 10 1. They say, “So be it and praise
the Lord.” Nothing greater can be
said than, “Amen; Amen to God’s truth.” 2. We should praise God because of the
lowliness of man, v. 5b. 3. All should praise God, v. 5c. II.
God is Praised
for the Marriage of the Lamb, v. 6
– 8. Our worship
should match the magnitude of God. A. Praise for the Kingdom, v. 6. The prayer “thy kingdom
come” is about to be answered. B. Joy for the Wedding, v. 7 – 8. 1. The people present at the wedding
are the bridegroom (v. 7),
the bride (v. 7 – 8),
and guests (v. 9 –
Old Testament saints, Tribulation saints, anyone saved who is not a member of
the church). 2. The preparations, v. 8 3. The Jewish marriage custom of three
stages compared with salvation. JEWISH
CUSTOM SALVATION The betrothal Redemption The coming for the bride Rapture The wedding feast Marriage
Supper of the Lamb C. Ephesians III.
God’s Assurance
of the Certainty of These Things, v. 9
– 10. A. The Believers’ Invitation, v. 9. B. The Believers’ Confidence, v. 9. The concluding phrase of v. 10
is significant. It means that prophecy
at its very heart is designed to unfold the beauty and
loveliness of Jesus. In the present age,
the Spirit of God is not only to glorify Christ but also to show believers
things to come as they relate to the person and majesty of Christ. CONCLUSION - Four Lessons
