Brother Hillard's Handouts[Home] [About] [Hillard's Handouts] [Classes] [Dean] [International Students] [Links] [News] [Programs] [President] [Site map] [Staff]This portion of the web site is set aside for various outlines and articles. Students always want handouts, thus the title. The outlines and articles will be topical, lessons, or sermons. Most will be original some will be copied. These outlines are set out with trepidation. There is plenty of discussion about the plagiarism of sermons and sermon outlines with the proliferation of them on the internet. The first set of outlines is entitled "The Seven Last Events of Human History." This is a series of sermons preached at Beverly Manor Baptist Church. I am indebted to a series of articles by David J. MacLeod, which appeared in Bibliotheca Sacra from January - March 1999 to October - December 2000. The introductions and conclusions have been very helpful. Writing an article for a scholarly journal and preparing a sermon are very different. Therefore, the outlines and contents of the sermons and Dr. MacLeod's articles are different. I found in The Expositor's Bible Commentary, volume 12, page 573, the phrase "the first of the final series of seven last things." Perhaps Dr. MacLeod received his inspiration for his series from this commentary. This leads to the next thought. You can use as much of these outlines without citation as your conscience and ministerial ethics permit. " Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind," Romans 14:5c.
